Dr. Jeanelle Ali, C.Psych.

Dr. Jeanelle Ali (she/her) provides comprehensive psychological/ psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents (2- to 21-years-old) with a variety of medical, learning, and psychosocial concerns. In addition, Dr. Ali has extensive experience working with parents, medical providers, and schools, and believes in a collaborative and tailored approach to ensure families obtain valuable and comprehensive assessments.

As a Fulbright scholar, Dr. Jeanelle Ali earned a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Memphis following Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and Master of Science (Clinical Psychology) programs at The University of the West Indies. Dr. Ali completed her pre-doctoral internship/residency at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/ Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine focused on Pediatric Neuropsychology and Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Ali then completed a two-year Pediatric Neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is currently licensed to practice as a Psychologist (Neuropsychologist) in the state of Tennessee, USA and in the province of Ontario, Canada with declared competencies in assessment and intervention among children, adolescents, and adults.

Professional Biography

Throughout her career, Dr. Ali administered both pediatric intervention and psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluation services to an incomparable pediatric patient population across developmental stages, diagnoses, and phases of treatment and in both medical and non-medical settings. She has significant knowledge and experience in the administration and interpretation of comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments for a wide variety of pediatric medical conditions, such as physical/ medical conditions (e.g., spina bifida, muscular dystrophy), developmental disabilities (e.g., fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, autism spectrum disorder), congenital and genetic disorders (e.g., fragile X syndrome), chronic medical illnesses (e.g., epilepsy), brain injuries, and those receiving CNS-directed therapies.

Dr. Ali has worked in a variety of clinical settings in Memphis, Tennessee including Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She provided neuropsychological assessments in outpatient and inpatient settings for children diagnosed with various congenital and acquired medical conditions within Hematology/ Oncology, Congenital/ Genetic Disorders, and Epilepsy/ Brain Injury Clinics.

She also worked at The Center for Developmental Disabilities of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where she gained specialized training and experience in the cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities among very young children, including specialized training in the administration and interpretation of the ADOS-2.

Dr. Ali has also published several peer-reviewed articles and has multiple conference presentations. Her scientific work examined health disparities as well as neurocognitive and psychosocial functioning among at-risk, minority/ underserved populations, and children with chronic medical illnesses.
